Welcome to my Raw Cakes World!

 

The story goes like this:

I was never a “baker”. In fact, truthfully, I have never baked a cake! Therefore, when I started to eat a raw vegan diet, I fell in love with making raw vegan cakes! No baking involved, no mixing flour, baking soda, baking powder, and other ingredients – I was all in!

And so I started to make an occasional cake here and there, for myself, family, and friends, until one day, I had an opportunity to sell my raw cakes at the juice bar I was working at, and a few other places in the area, and the rest is history!

 

My Divine Matcha& Raspberry Spring Cake even made it to be featured on the very last (and prominent page >> easy to find :)) in a beautiful magazine Lucuma issue 11!! Can I say I am a published author now, lol 🙂

I must say, I have a slight fascination with raw vegan cakes. Not only because they are nourishing for our one & only precious body, as they contain no refined sugar, as well as no common allergens like dairy, soy and wheat, but also because there is the opportunity to harvest the beauty of seasonal produce.

And as you may know, in my life philosophy, I emphasise seasonal and local produce very much. Not only does the local produce taste better, but it is also a more sustainable way when comes to nourishment. 

 

Ah, and the colours!!!

I absolutely love the bright variety of colours that stay preserved when you make raw cakes! I have never been a fan of “fifty shades of brownish baked cakes colour” anyway!

So, why should you indulge in raw cakes? 

There are so many reasons! Let’s have a look at some:

 

  • Raw cakes are made with whole foods, like nuts, seeds, superfoods, fruits — all “living” foods that are full of enzymes, which your body needs for good digestion!
  • Raw cakes are free from sugar, wheat, soy, dairy, artificial flavourings, colour enhancers, leavening agents and other possible hidden harmful ingredients!
  • Raw cakes are nourishing, as they contain the raw unprocessed fats from nuts and seeds
  • Raw cakes are full of antioxidants that boost the immune system, and make you feel and look better!
  • Raw cakes contain the ever-so-precious source of beneficial fibre, which means they are good for your gut-beneficial bacteria!
  • Raw cakes can be fermented, which means they contain probiotics which we know aid smooth digestion as well as keep our immune system robust!
  • Raw cakes are incredibly easy and fun to make with no fancy equipment!
  • Raw cakes offer creativity and it is an incredibly difficult task to make the raw cake taste anything less than delicious!
  • You can have more than a slice and feel no guilt!
  • Raw cakes look beautiful, and shall I say “sexy”? 🙂
