Maximise Your Brain Power For Years To Come

 

Food is the code that programs your biology.

You can literally upgrade or downgrade your biological software with what you choose to eat.

Today, more than 95% of chronic disease is caused by:

  • Toxic food ingredients

Food can elevate your mood, and also calm anxiety. That’s right, you can EAT FOR YOUR MOOD.

 

If we don’t supply the right nutrients to our body, how can our brain deal with everyday stress and decisions that serve us the best?

 

Today, there seems to be so much confusion and lots of misleading information on what on earth shall one eat, when in reality, it is truly simple.

 

Eat what your body needs! Most of us, however, got completely disconnected. We no longer listen to our bodies.

 

I am a huge fan of so-called “functional foods”. Foods that nourish the body and mind.

Today I want to share with you one of my favourite “functional smoothies”. Functional smoothies are a great way to get the nutrient powerhouse into the body, and they a perfect “meal in a glass” for someone who is busy and has no time to think about what to eat to stay nourished.

 

With that said, let’s get into it.

 

With coming cold season I’ve stepped away from the frozen bananas, frozen cauliflower and frozen berries that I used as a smoothie base and fell in love with ‘room temperature’ smoothies. I might still use a banana or an avocado here and there, but it won’t be frozen.

 

The following Nourishing Green Smoothie is an antioxidant powerhouse thanks to the blend of chia, flax seeds, açai and goji berries. These are combined with nourishing hemp milk, collagen peptides, and wonderful probiotic – organic fermented yoghurt (kefir).

 

The smoothie gets green because of spirulina which has the highest protein contents of any food on the planet. It is also rich in iron, copper, many B vitamins, and vitamins A(beta-carotene), C, E and K.

 

I also like to use my highly nutritious blend of 7 green plants by LoveLifeSupplements – Organic Greens Blend, which also contains prebiotics and probiotics to support nutrient absorption (this is a problem I have encountered, and with it a myriad of other health problems, but that’s a story for another time). Smoothie ingredients:

🍃1 cup of hemp milk (it can be lightly warmed up)

🍃1 cup of filtered water or unsweetened coconut water

🍃2 Tbsp kefir (or organic Greek yoghurt)

🍃1 handful of raw almonds (preferably soaked overnight)

🍃1 Tbsp high-quality collagen

🍃1 Tbsp chia seeds

🍃1 Tbsp flax seeds

🍃1 teaspoon Açai berry powder

🍃1 teaspoon goji berries

🍃1 Tbsp raw cacao powder

🍃1 teaspoon Maca powder

🍃1 teaspoon Ashwagandha powder

🍃1 Tbsp spirulina powder or Organic Greens mix

 

Method:

Combine all the ingredients in a high-speed blender for about 1 minute, pour into a glass or glass jar and enjoy!
