We were all born with it.

So why is it so hard to practice mindfulness in everyday life?

Perhaps because modern life makes MINDLESSNESS the default option. It’s easy to go along with advertising that promotes mindless consumption. It’s much harder to pause before buying to see if breathing is enough. It’s easy to wold down lunch without thinking. It’s harder to eat with awareness and gratitude.

One of the foundations of mindfulness (identified by Buddha) is feeling/emotion. Emotion/feeling is a vibration in your body caused by a thought. The key is to know, when you are feeling a pleasant feeling and when you are feeling a painful feeling, and not to get wrapped in them. Watch the feeling arise, and then watch it vanish. Observe. No matter how good or bad it feels, the emotion isn’t going to last.

 

Trust yourself, and allow any emotion, positive or negative. The good news is that all feelings are HARMLESS.

 

Start to pay attention to experiences and how you feel.

Once you’re aware of your feelings, then you can get authority over them and over your life.

Most people don’t allow their feelings. Instead, they resist, react, or avoid them.

Most people are afraid of their emotions. They’re afraid to feel.

Be different. Learn to allow your emotions.

When you allow your feeling, you name it.

Process it.

Breathe into it.

Make it stronger. Move into it and through it.

Don’t judge it. Don’t react.

Just observe.

 

Love yourself enough to give yourself the gift of being able to feel what you feel.

Unlearn the old habits, and reconnect with yourself.

Adopt a Mindful Mindset. A mindful mindset is open, caring and non-judgemental. It’s about noticing what you have.

It’s about not wanting things to be different than the way they are. It’s about working with things as you find them. Let go of control and be open to a wider and wider array of your experience.
